In a park-like setting overlooking the
Connecticut River in Holyoke, Massachusetts, the St.
Joseph Residence will provide housing for low income
seniors in need of enhanced services. The facility,
expected to open in the fall of 2010, is being
constructed by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Springfield
with a $4.3 million grant from the U.S. Department of
Housing and Urban Development and other funds.

The Residence will include 30
one-bedroom apartments for persons over 62 years of age
with varying needs for supportive services such as meals
and therapy.
A learning center, arts and crafts
room, therapy room and large courtyard for recreation
will provide an enriching environment designed to help
residents live as independently as possible.
St. Joseph Residence at Mont Marie
will be open to residents who:
-
can live independently with some
enhanced services
-
are at least 62 years of age
-
have a gross annual income that
